A jury has found a former Pierce County sheriff's deputy not guilty of first-degree criminal trespass with sexual motivation. The verdict in Joseph S. Qualls' trial was announced Thursday. Sheriff Paul Pastor fired Qualls, 29, in January after an internal investigation into the allegations against him.

Police in Groton have charged an art teacher at Robert Fitch Senior High School with sexually assaulting a female student. Police allege 29-year-old Timothy Riendeau engaged in inappropriate conduct with the girl. He was arrested Thursday at his home in Groton on two counts of second-degree sexual assault.

A 67-year-old Casper man pleaded guilty Thursday to charges of sexually abusing a child who was under the age of 10. Larry Richard Osborne faces up to 15 years behind bars when he is sentenced in Natrona County District Court. In exchange for him pleading guilty to one count of third-degree sexual abuse of a minor, prosecutors dropped three other charges alleging sexual abuse against the same underage victim.

A mother accused of having sex with her son's 16 year old friend pleaded guilty to one count of first degree sexual abuse. Last December, detectives found Jeannie Vannerson of Kevil locked in a bedroom with the boy. Prosecutors dropped two other sexual abuse charges as part of a plea deal.

News of the pending court date and 2007 charges against a Grain Valley gymnastics coach has raised concern with parents. In June of 2007, William (Bill) Witthar was charged with sexual misconduct. Witthar owns the Best Gymnastics Training Center in Grain Valley, Mo. The alleged incident happened during a gymnastics meet in St. Cloud, Minn., in April of 2007.

Vonda Ferguson was found guilty Friday night, Nov. 20, of all 32 counts of felonious assault, child endangering, permitting child abuse and rape. She was convicted of using extreme forms of punishment on her five adopted children — who are now age 14 through 19 — between 2000 and 2004, allegedly hitting them with hammers and belts until they bled. She also forced them to eat excrement and burned them with irons, prosecutors said during the three-week trial held in Richard O'Neill's court.

South Australian Premier Mike Rann has denied he had a sexual relationship with former Parliament House barmaid, Michelle Chantelois. A Channel Seven current affairs program claims it will reveal new allegations relating to the nature of the relationship when it broadcasts an interview with Ms Chantelois tomorrow night. A report in The Australian claims Ms Chantelois had sex with Mr Rann in his office on several occasions while Parliament was sitting.

It's not something that I like to discuss on a public level but in my case I'm at the point where I feel like I have to come clean. I'm tired of the lies and I'm not holding it in any more   -Michelle Chantelois

A Dublin-based priest has denied sexually abusing three Co Fermangh girls on differing dates going back to the early 1960s. In all, 75-year-old Fr Eugene Lewis with an address at Cypress Grove House, Templelogue in Dublin, was formally arraigned before Dungannon Crown Court on a total of 11 charges involving the girls, three sisters. The charges allegedly involve the indecent assault of the three sisters.

The license of a Towson psychiatrist will continue to be summarily suspended amid allegations that he demonstrated improper conduct with boys in his care, a state health board ruled Wednesday. Miguel Frontera, who practices at Clinical Associates, in the 500 block of Fairmount Avenue, was initially suspended Nov. 6, according to the Maryland Board of Physicians, which oversees doctors in the state.
